I’ve always held those closest to me in the highest regard above all else. Whether it’s the dead of night or I’m halfway across the world, if a cherished family member or friend needs me, I’m there without hesitation.
Love or Stress?
My faith in the transformative force of love has always been unwavering. Love possesses an unparalleled ability to heal, whether it’s expressed through tender words or actions. Conversely, stress wields a destructive power, leading to illness and robbing life of its vibrancy. Yet, the choice to shift lies within our grasp. We are the architects of our narratives, each moment a blank page awaiting our imprint. Will you embrace the path of joy and love, or succumb to negativity and despair? The power lies in your hands to make every second count, to spread love and kindness, igniting positive change one thought at a time. to affect the others.
To succeed in all these aspects of health without overwhelming yourself, you need platforms like Beyond Energised.
A story about love
Allow me to share a personal anecdote that illustrates the potency of love. At 16, my mother brought home two adorable ginger kittens, companions who quickly became my world.
As I turned 27 I moved to Germany, and when I moved back home 4 years later, I could see that one not so little kitten anymore was quite sick. I went to bed crying, and when mum noticed she offered to take me to the Vet up the road to check him out. Needless to say, Scholes was already at a very late stage of kidney failure and many day drips and vet visits later, he had to be put to sleep. I was devastated and the only words of encouragement I received were “don’t cry, he was 15 years old, that’s pretty old for a cat and Honey (the second cat) won’t be living much longer either so dry your tears”.
I was not going to let that happen to me. No way. At the time I was doing up my own apartment, and Honey was my incentive to get it done ASAP to be able to move him there with me and shower him in all the love he deserved. And so I did. Took him to his yearly vet visits, gave him pills, travelled as little as possible to avoid leaving him behind, brought home vets to avoid stressing him out on drives to the vet in the car. Honey lived to almost 23 years, and nothing would change my mind that the only factor that made him live that much longer despite having the start of a kidney failure himself as well, was the power of love and eliminating as much stress from his life as possible.
